Our mission in the Food and Nutrition Services Department is to enhance learning by advancing the quality of school meals and to empower students to make life-long healthy choices. We do this by following the
nutrition parameters set by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act that include offering all students a minimum of three fruit and vegetable options, whole grain servings, lean protein sources and low-fat dairy options.
As of 2014, the parameters include:
- All grains are Whole Grain Rich (>51% whole grains)
- School Lunch Calorie Ranges:
Sodium Restrictions on all meals
- K-5th: 550-650 calories
- 6th - 8th: 600-700 calories
- 9th - 12th: 750-850 calories
Breakfast is free to all students and $1.80 for adults.
