Austin Is Enrichment

At Austin Public Schools, we believe enrichment is essential to educating the whole student. Learning takes many forms, and we are committed to providing experiences that spark curiosity and support student growth. We provide a wide range of enrichment opportunities during and outside the school day, including:

  • A strategic partnership with MacPhail Music that expands access to music instruction through both in-person and virtual lessons, while also providing shared spaces that support collaboration and creativity.
  • Engaging, hands-on science instruction at all grade levels that fosters inquiry, experimentation, and real-world problem‑solving.
  • Diverse co-curricular programs that connect students to their interests and passions, such as robotics, music, drama, Math League, Science Olympiad, Project E³,Discover Drones, Knowledge Bowl, and more.
  • Advanced learning pathways beginning in elementary school. In grades K–4, Advanced Academics and Young Scholars pull‑out programs provide targeted enrichment that strengthens students’ skills in math, reading, and/or critical thinking. From grades 5–12, students transition into a continuum of advanced learning opportunities, including advanced courses, honors-level instruction, and Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) and Advanced Placement (AP) programming. Gifted Services for Talent Development
  • Career-focused enrichment at the high school level, where students deepen their learning through opportunities such as DECA, Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO), and the Future Teacher Club, along with Packer Profile events. These experiences are further enhanced by college visits, career fairs, and on-the-job learning opportunities that help students explore future pathways.

These experiences help students build confidence, explore new interests, and stay engaged in learning. Our goal is simple: to ensure every student has meaningful opportunities to discover what inspires them.
