District Communication Tools for Family Engagement - Austin Public Schools

At Austin Public Schools, we have a number of methods for communicating with families, from emails and phone calls to Campus Messenger and Smore. Please see below for information and links on each.

Infinite Campus Parent Portal

Infinite Campus is an online student information system used by Austin Public Schools for grading, communication, attendance, and much more. When you enroll at Austin Public Schools, you will be issued an account so you can monitor your students academic progress.

If you do not have an APS Campus Parent Portal Account and wish to obtain one, please contact portal@austin.k12.mn.us to obtain account information and support.

Talking Points

TalkingPoints is a communication tool used by Austin Public Schools to allow families to send and receive text messages directly with teachers. The TalkingPoints app is free for families to use.

TalkingPoints will automatically translate messages if your language is available in the program.
TalkingPoints allows you to connect with teachers in two ways:
- Download the TalkingPoints app (see below) or
- Respond via text message to a message you have received from your student's teacher. We recommend saving this contact info in your phone so it's easy to find if you need to reach out later.

How can I change my phone number? Caregiver phone numbers are automatically linked to TalkingPoints through Infinite Campus. To update your contact information, contact Central Enrollment at 507-460-1937.
