For over 30 years, parents and teachers of Austin have valued Gifted Services for Talent Development to enrich their students' educational experience. It is our commitment to continue to provide comprehensive services that meet the needs of our students - academically, cognitively, creatively, and emotionally.

The philosophy of the Austin Public School Gifted and Talented Services is to match advanced academic services to students' learning needs by responding to how students demonstrate their knowledge on universal assessments which include, but are not limited to, Scantron Performance Series Math and Reading tests. All students in grades 1, 3, and 5 are also administered the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) ability test to give another data point to inform decisions. Local norms are used to identify students who may benefit from advanced academic options.
