The Insurance Committee is an advisory committee to District Administration and the School Board. The committee reviews the operation of current insurance programs, studies and recommends changes in coverage, renewal rates, and the HITA bid process.
The committee allows leaders of each labor unit and administration the opportunity to come together in maintaining the integrity of the insurance offerings of Austin Public Schools. The major objectives of the committee include controlling the inflation of health plan costs, reducing claims, as well as educating and encouraging employees to improve their own health.
The committee meets at 3:30 PM in the District Office Conference Room.
