District Information
At Austin Public Schools, our mission is to Inspire, Empower, and Accelerate every learner. Austin Public Schools serves approximately 5,200 students at 9 different sites, including a community learning center, an all-day Kindergarten center, four elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school, and one high school. APS also has an alternative learning center for students in grades 9-12, offers online instruction through our Austin Online Academy, and serves adult learners at a site located at Riverland Community College. We serve a highly diverse population of students who speak more than 45 different home languages. In order to more effectively serve our students, we have developed partnerships with many different organizations, including The Hormel Foundation, the University of Minnesota, and the MacPhail Center for Music, as well as a partnership with Albert Lea Area Schools in the Austin Albert Lea Area Special Education Cooperative (AALASEC).
